Deal of the Day (October 6): Our Prime-Day Counter-Pick — 60W Foldable Solar Panel

Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days (October 6–7) are flooding every feed with portable power stations at prices that look too good to be true. So here's our counter-pick: skip the station and start with the one thing every real off-grid setup needs first — the MHPOWOS 60W Foldable Solar Panel (18V Portable Charger) — $101.80.

Why this one

Most "Prime Day power deals" sell you a battery box with a solar panel thrown in as an afterthought. We think that's backwards. A foldable 60W panel is the part of an off-grid setup that actually earns its keep: it feeds whatever you already own — your power station, your battery bank, your RV rig — every sunny day for years. No firmware, no planned obsolescence, no proprietary connectors to worry about.

At 60W it's genuinely portable, not "portable*" (see: 70-pound "portable" generators). It folds up, goes in the trunk or the camper, and starts working the moment the sun is up. If you're eyeing a big station deal today, our honest advice is the same as always: buy the panel first, prove the use case, then size the battery around what the panel actually harvests.

Pair it with our winter outage sizing guide so you buy the right amount of backup — not the biggest box on sale.

The deal

We normally run a 15%-off Deal of the Day code, which would bring this to $86.53. Today's code (DEAL-1006) ran into a technical snag in our promotions dashboard, so there is no active deal code today — the deal price activates as soon as the code goes live. The everyday price of $101.80 stands, and free shipping plus our 30-day returns apply either way.

Meanwhile, our standing codes INSTA20 (20% off) and WELCOME10 (10% off) are both live at checkout — use them today for your Prime-Day-beating price.

Honest specs note: only the specs printed on the listing are stated here — 60W foldable solar panel, 18V output, portable charger for camping. No runtime or certification claims beyond what the supplier states.
